    File Transfer issue of router

I am suffering with some of the problems that is situated to file transfer issue of a router.

One of the friend of mine just switch his ISP. The latest one supply him a Dlink ADSL router/wireless router. He is running with one desktop computer and connected with the USB printer. One of the notebook is also connected as well. Before switching, he was using a router within the desktop with cable and notebook w/l. The desktop computers and notebook can access to the Internet, share files and print. After switching ISP, both computer can access to Internet only but not file sharing and printing. What kind of configuration are required through which we can again get the file sharing and printing features can be activate.

    Hello Paul,

You are using the any security mechanism means have you installed the firewall software ? You are running with IP range the similar as the your previous router?

You need to use another work-group entity, but that would only be a speed bump. If something, he could find another router device to isolate the student workstations. You need to try this approach that can help you.

I am going to tell you something through which you can configure the appropriate settings,You would connect the router2's WAN port to a router1 LAN port.

You requires to use another IP ranges for both of the networks. You need to use another wifi channels also , probably 1 and 11.If your router1 subnet is 192.168.1.x, then obviously, you can use 192.168.1.254. And I will suggest you that don't use an IP within the DHCP scope of router1.Just try it within the system and send the result what you are getting actually.

Don't worry about this just troubleshoot your problem again and now get ready made the configuration.

Now enter the IP address from the command prompt

    IE //192.168.0.0.

It specifies your IP address and it should view you upon the router, the one which is allocated to your computer. And one thing more, if you installed the firewall properly on the computer, allow the IP address that you have on the different computer that is being used to access the printer, on that firewall.

Enter into the configuration settings on the firewall and choose the network and then you can be able to get access from there. And be sure for files ,you have to check every files on the network using the right click and enable the sharing property of the files.

    File Transfer issue of router

    Hi,
I am not so sure to do this but at-least,you can try this to solve that how to use second router to isolate the connection of students.Just follow the procedure to get your solution :

1- Just make the connection with the cable modem to router1's WAN,
2- Setup the router1 wireless as DHCP, SSID, encryption and password, configure the other computers with this SSID,
3- Get connect the router2's LAN port to a LAN port of router1, configure router2 wireless as DHCP, SSID.
