    PC no longer recognizes Ethernet

    Hello everyone,

This is my first post here. I'm not much expert in using mac. But since morning my mac pc doesn't recognize the Ethernet connection. The computer is connected to the Livebox via Ethernet, but it seems no longer recognize the cable / port this morning. When I do the "network status" in the network configuration, the list shows only the "Internal Modem", and not the Ethernet.

The diagnosis of connection problems told me that no cable is connected. I checked several times, disconnected and reconnected the cable on both sides (Mac and box), tried another cable: no more reaction.

When I put the original cable, I saw that the "Internal Modem" had also disappeared from the window "Network Status" in the meantime.

    What can I do?

What machine? and the system version?

Trying o create a new configuration in the same panel ... and selects for Ethernet . Is all drivers are installed properly? have you recently made any update to system before this problem is started?

Thanks for your response buddy. My system is Power Mac G4 Cube of 10.4 .

Already tried what you advice... same effect, unfortunately: the Ethernet and modem are not listed.

    Any more ideas?

Good already before rummaging around, insert and boot the Apple Hardware Test CD that came with the machine, run the test track to check the status of network components.

Make sure that your if the network card is not dead. Connect it to some other pc and check.

Did you check that your local connection is not disabled.

Verify if you have not uninstall your network card, The exclamation point is in front of network card or something like that I think so.

    Specific DNS Suffix for connection:
    IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0 ......
    Mask of subnet. . . . . . : 255,255
    Default Gateway. . . . . . : 192.168.0.
