    Re: VBS/Stages is multi application windows worm

    VBS/Stages which is detected on your computer system is a multi application windows worm. VBS/Stages worm uses Microsoft outlook, mIRC (Internet Relay Chat), Pirch and mapped drives for spreading from one computer system to another computer system. Since this is a mass mailing worm it affects many e-mail server. If your current antivirus is not able to delete this VBS/Stages worm from your computer system then you must change your antivirus software.

    Re: How to remove VBS/Stages from my computer?

    This VBS/Stages worm modifies the registry key values so that it can launch at the time of restart.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices\
    ScanReg="C:\WINDOWS\WSCRIPT.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SCANREG.VBS"
    The above registry key value is modified by the VBS/Stages worm. So if you have the knowledge of registry key then you can easily delete this VBS/Stages worm from your computer system manually.

    For removing this VBS/Stages worm from your computer system I will suggest you to use MacAfee antivirus software and using Norton antivirus software is also a good option. But these antivirus software comes for a high price. If want a free solution for removing this VBS/Stages worm from your computer system, then you can go for avast antivirus software. Home edition of the avast antivirus software is available for free on its official site.
