Before implementing any hardware changes to the network which you are using confirm with your service provider if they allow same Internet connection to be shared between different computers. If the ISP's do not allow sharing of the same Internet connection between the different computers then there is no implementing hardware solutions for it. Hence first contact the ISP and be sure that the connection can be shared or not. And if they allow sharing you can ask them for help so that you are able to connect the Belkin router to the cable modem.

It is very simple to connect the Router to the modem in order to share the same connection. The cable from the cable modem which is connected directly to the computer, should be inserted in one of the ports of the router. Once the modem and the router are connected, the wireless capability of the router must be enabled. To enable the WLAN of the router, login to the router through a computer connected to the router using ethernet cable. Go to the router configuration and then enable the WLAN. Save the settings and then reboot the router. Once the router is rebooted, try to connect the laptop the router using Wifi.

Motorola 2210 is a router/modem. Which means that the device can do both the functions of a router as well as modem. Hence to connect the motorola 2210 to the belkin router, you will be required to do certain configurations. You will have to use the Motorola as the Main router and Belkin router as a Wireless access point. First login to the router using the computer connected to it directly, then go to configuration and select the type of connection as PPPoE and enter the account details of the Internet provider. Now disable the DHCP on the router. Save the settings and then login to the modem. Enable DHCP on the modem and save the settings. Now connect the modem to the router using an Ethernet cable and you will be able to use the same internet connections on both the computers.

Another way to connect the router and the modem to share the connection is to put the modem in Bridge mode. In bridge mode the modem will only be responsible for connecting the router to the outer network and routing of the traffic is done by the router. To put the modem in bridge mode, login to the router and then copy all the configuration settings. Once all the settings are copied, disable the DHCP and then save the settings. Now login to the router and then do the settings by referring the configuration of the modem. The only change is that you will have to enable the DHCP on the router. Once all the configurations are done, save them and reboot all the devices.

There is no need of connecting the Motorola modem to the router for sharing the connection if the router has the DSL port. Connect the DSL line to the port on the router. Login to the router and then configure the router according to the configurations of the modem. Enable the WLAN on the router so that the laptop will be able to connect to the router using Wireless connectivity.
