    Prevent Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Apher.gge from entering the system

    Is there any method to prevent Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Apher.gge from entering the system? I am using Windows XP operating system and my browser is IE8. The AVG antivirus, that I am using in my system detects and also deletes the infection. But, I do not know how it enters into the system. Please help me advisable replies.

    Use a firewall

    To prevent Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Apher.gge from entering the system, use a firewall. Here is how you can enable it in your system:
    1. Click on Start.
    2. After that, go to Control Panel.
    3. Next, click on Security.

    I suggest you to turn automatic updates on to prevent Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Apher.gge from entering the system. Follow the steps given below for enabling automatic updates:
    • Click on Start.
    • Then, go to Control Panel.

    Take caution while clicking on links on the web sites inorder to prevent Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Apher.gge from entering the system. The attackers put a very good caption to the links in the websites and then put malicious contents in it. When you find that something is fishy about some particular link avoid going into it. This may solve your problem.
