Implement Parental Control on Web surfing

Internet is a great tool for communication and freedom. The Internet provides access to a global information and communicate virtually in various ways, including by electronic mail, instant messaging, living or newsgroup, or blogging. This wealth has a downside the Internet also provides access to content that may be harmful to your child (violence, pornography, etc.) and / or contrary to law. I fear this specially for kids. What are some best parental control software and what are the features.

Two filtering rules can be defined according to the age of your children (child or adolescent) to define the list of websites where they can go, the software they can run, etc.. A control slots allow you to define schedules connections of your children and the use of software using the Internet (Live Messenger, online games, Emule, ...). To prevent your child to communicate his name, address or telephone number, a filter of personal data is integrated.

Cybersitter is a parental control software allows parents to prevent their children visit sites with adult content (violence, sex, racism, etc.). It is a filtering software that reference sites "banned". It can prevent the entry of certain words in a search engine or during a discussion on a cat, and even establish a history of connections and a list of sites to which access was denied.

There are many parental control software. Like Net Nanny Parental Controls. This software are very easy to use and user friendly. One of my friend is using FreeAngel. This tools offers to create an Administrator account. This account will allow you to protect the software configuration (to prevent your children can modify) and to define the filtering rules. You can then create accounts for each child. Enter your name, your name and then set a password and repeat. Then click OK.

In this types of software you can set the times during which children can access the Internet. These slots can be configured according to the two types of profiles like Child or other. In the window of this tools there is a control box where you get category management activities. When the parental control is activated, you can block the use of certain software and games. You can simply declare them in the administration interface.

By default, the profile allows a child to access only a white list of sites, that is to say that sites can not offend the sensibilities of younger. You can request to add certain sites. Similarly, the blacklist reference sites banned, whatever the type of profile used. You can add sites to this list. In the terminal window of the software, click the White List. Your child must then identify itself to load the parental control settings which are suitable. To regain full use of your computer, you need close parental control by using your administrator password.
