    What is Super Peer Network

    Hi,
I am a newbie in Networking. I was learning about P2P networking right now. I need some details about Super Peer Networking. What does this means. How to define the architecture of the network system. Is this much more related to P2P. If yes then what are the differences among them. Also which is the best example of a Super Peer Network. Thanks in advance.

Re: What is Super Peer Network

Super Peer Network is called a hybrid between the client / server and P2P. Nodes with good bandwidth are organized into P2P. These are the super-peers. The nodes with low bandwidth are connected in client / server to a super-peer. The super-peers have an index of resources in their cluster. The P2P software known as using this technology is probably Kazaa.

Re: What is Super Peer Network

The choice of a super-peer introduces sensitivity to failures. If the super-peer is no longer reachable, its customers are cut off from the network. A possible improvement is to choose many super peers instead of one. A restriction is that the super-peers are equal partners. In this case, each partner is connected to each client, and has an index of all resources.

To get a super pear this are the files you have to follow. First increase the size of a cluster decreases aggregate load, but increases the burden individually. Then check the the redundancy of super-peer supports. After that you must maximize the number of connections for super-peers (reduces the number of hops to achieve a result). It is necessary to minimize the TTL.

Kazaa is an example of super peer network. Although details of operation of Kazaa are not fully disclosed, the only things about this software is that i uses a technique of super-peer. In addition, it also deals with the problem of quality of knots reliability of information, but also rate and upload speed, etc. If you can study more about Kazaa then you can get a general idea of it.

Re: What is Super Peer Network

Basic principles of Kazaa is that every new user must open an account, declare its directory of shared files. Depending on its bandwidth, the software will decide if the client is or is not a super-peer (option to enable or disable it manually). Uncertainty exists as to how to connect two sets super-peer. Perhaps this is through a decentralized protocol type broadcast.
