    Advantages of a client-server networking

    Hi,
What are the advantages of a Client Server Networking. Today we have many options to get interconnected. But for an enterprise which is the best option to go on with. A server based system is best or any other mode will work better. In my views I think Client Server Networking will be more beneficial and a less time consuming concept. Post some advantages and disadvantages of Client Server Networking. Thanks in advance.

Customers designate applications that seek to exploit the services offered by a server. Customers do not have information but are able to fetch. For example, include web browsers like Firefox, Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Safari, etc. But also e-mail programs likes mutt, outlook, thunderbird, etc. If you have a computer connected to a network (Internet or LAN), then you have already served a customer. On the other side are the servers. Often located on powerful machines in order to serve multiple clients simultaneously and have the information available.

One of the big advantages of client - server networking is its relative simplicity of operation. In fact, once you have information you want to share, you open a server (a bit like opening a restaurant), and you only have to wait for customers. Of course, there's no talk of waiting for someone returns unexpectedly, he must know your server. This mode allows an especially great simplicity of updates each owner puts information on a server (known then upload information, unlike the download that is to repatriate the information from server to client) and is available immediately to everyone.

The problem related to client server is the cost on operation. Indeed, if a computer just powerful enough to treat some widely simultaneous requests, once the number of requests becomes large, servers (computers used solely to provide a type of service) must increase, and the network connection should also be increased, otherwise the performance (response time of the server) will be degraded. The worst case is a server crash it is no longer able to respond.

The best advantage of this system is that you get a centralized systems of management. You can manipulate maximum resources with data security. This can be controlled through a server. The other things which benefits is that all the elements can be raised or low down individually. The entire system is based on a new flexible technology. This can be integrated to any system easily through the new modes of applications.

In a client-server all the components work together. The same can be accessed easily from anywhere and works on multi-platforms. That means it supports cross platforms. The speed of data transfer is good due to a dedicated system on it. The other thing to consider and which is important is the data security. You can backup your data and make your self more secure. There are server based tools which gives you regular help in this terms.
