Way to exploit Windows Network resources

I am new in Windows Vista network. I need ways to establish and uses different types of resources in Windows Network. Also how to manage windows network and file sharing. I had tried and faced some conflicts among the other files of Windows. What are mapping tools and simply how to configure them. If a mapping service is not working then how to restore it. Also what are the different methods of using Windows Network.

After switching on, if you find a dead time of several minutes before Windows becomes operational, it is likely that your PC has trouble getting an IP address from the router. You will solve the problem by assigning a permanent IP address. To do this, open the module Network and Sharing Center in Control Panel. In the left pane of the window that appears, click Manage network connections.

The window that opens displays the Network Connections icon. Right click on one that connects your PC to the LAN or modem and choose the Properties command. In the Properties window of the connection, select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties. The properties window opens Internet Protocol. Tick the option Use the following website. Fill the IP Address box, for example with the following data: 192.168.0.101. Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0 and then Default Gateway: enter the IP address of the ADSL modem.

If you want to listen to shared music from another network PC, open Windows Media Player. Tap the Alt key to display the menu bar and pull down the Tools menu, Options. In the Options window, select the Library tab and click Configure Sharing. The dialog box opens sharing. Check the Search for files shared by other users to select the name of the PC sharer. Press OK. Media files from another PC appear in your library. The music, images, videos remain on the original PC. Only constraint: it must remain switched on continuously.

Each reader of a shared disk in a network is visible in the network window. All readers are yet available, even if you do not see them. Type in the address area of the window of their network letter followed by a $. For example: \ $ maxd to the D: drive on the computer named Max. You can disable this hidden share, called administrative share. Run Regedit, and open successively the keys HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, System, Current ControlSet Services, Lanmanserver, Parameters. Pull down the Edit menu, New, DWORD Value 32-bit. Name the new key AutoShareWks. Double-click on its name to assign the value 0 and click OK.

In the Windows Network resources you must be having some of the music or videos in to the computer. That you can share it with the other machine through the network. To do this you have to go to the control panel after selecting the network and shared files. In this you can also have the option of the edit, select the icon on your computer and use that files which you had shared.
