May be you have changed the power settings of your pc. Set it to defaults or Go into properties for the wireless in the device manager. Under power management tab, uncheck the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."

It happens because your ip is dynamic,When going into StandBy mode, the network connection is cut and your IP is released. You need to get a new IP before you can start surfing. Just goto the command prompt and type IPCONFIG /RENEW and it should aquire a new IP address.

Once happened to me also, you need to change the nice settings, look at your nic cards properties and Uncheck the "let the system turn off the power to conserve power" , you'll find it under Device manager -> LAN card properties.
