Upgrading Wireless Router

I have WRT54G Router, and it give struggles every time to me with the connection to my pc. I called my hardware engineer and on phone it says may be its time to upgrade the router firmware. And he asid that he will come after few days, but i can't wait till then so posted this thread. I need your help regarding this, please guide me..

Go to the manufacture website and check for the latest firmware update and they also provides the installation procedure. If you are not much knowledgeable in this stuffs so i'll advice consult someone who have done this before.

The firmware update won't make much difference, i was having this issue before with my Dlink router i had to buy the new one. If its under warranty then consult the official customer service of your router. They will fix this issue for you.
