windows server 2003 ftp problems

Hello, I am having problems to set up IISFTP in Windows 2003 server cause it works only in intranet and not over the internet. If my friends try to connect to my FTP they get an error message saying that they dont have permissions to access any of my folders and then the connection gets lost. So can anyone tell me how to solve windows server 2003 ftp problems? Thank you

I was able to find a resolution. The resolution was to completely uninstall FTP services from the Add/Remove Windows components in the control Panel, and then to reinstall it again, using the server2003 cd. Something must have gotten confused in the original installation process, because now it seems to be behaving appropriately.
