Cheap dd-wrt based router

I want to buy a wireless router. I want one which comes bundled with dd-wrt firmware. I wan't to test how open-source firmwares do when compared to proprietary firmwares. I had a d-link wireless router and its firmware started acting weird in around 3 months. When can i get cheap dd-wrt based router??

I have not heard about any routers that use open-source firmware that are available in india. You will have to buy it from a outside website which can ship it to india. I don't think there is any other option if you want to try the opensource firmware on a router...

Is it possible to manually install the firmware on the router which i already have? If that is possible then i will just need to download the dd-wrt software and it will do my work for free... If that is possible, please help how do i do it? Thanks in advance!

Yeah, you can downoad the firmware and install it to the router you own, but first go to the dd-wrt website and check if your router is supported, else you will screw your router. Also download the firmware for your model if your router is supported.
