For Windows Vista - Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise editions, use the following method to restore or remove the security tab.
1. Open the Local Group Policy Editor.
2. In the left pane, click on User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Windows Components, and Windows Explorer.
3. In the right pane, right click on Remove Security tab and click on Properties.
4. To Restore the Security Tab - Select (dot) Disabled or Not Configured and click on OK.
5. To Remove the Security Tab - Select (dot) Enabled and click on OK.
6. Close the Local Group Policy Editor window.
In Windows Vista Home Premium, Windows Vista Home Basic, and Windows Vista Starter, the Security tab is not available on file and folder properties. The Security tab is also not available if you are using the FAT or FAT32 file system.
To Restore the Security Tab -
click on the download button below to download the "Restore_Security_Tab.reg file" and follow the steps below...

To Remove the Security Tab -
click on the download button below to download the "Remove_Security_Tab.reg file".

- Click on Save, and save the .reg file to the Desktop.
- Right click on the .reg file (on Desktop) and click on Merge.
- Click on the Run button in the Security Warning pop-up.
- Click on Continue (UAC), Yes, and then OK when prompted.
- Logoff and logon, or restart the computer to apply the changes.
- When done, you can delete the .reg file (on Desktop).
