If you are trying to connect a computer via remote desktop in Windows Vista, it will not allow you. Because by default Window vista does not allow blank password. But for your convenience if you want you can configure your Windows Vista to allow user access without a password.

You will need to run the Windows Vista Registry Editor.
Click on Start Menu > Run > Type regedit.exe in the dialog box and select OK

Now Navigate to following registry keys :
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Lsa
    &
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa

Now you had to create a new DWORD value named “limitblankpassworduse” and set it to 0.

This will allow a blank password access in the network.

Normally, you can configure your OS to enter your network computer without entering a password.
    Try the following Method :
Click on Start Meny > Run > and Type gpedit.msc
Now a Group Policy Object Editor window will popup.
Now go to > Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options
Double click on Accounts and look for > Limit local account use of blank passwords to console login only.
    Select the disable option.

Now if you look for other computers on the network it will not ask for a password.

I too use remote desktop to enter other computers. But every time i got the error Your credentials did not work. I want this to be configured without password.

These files are automated to change the registry entries. You can download the file and run the registry files. They will automatically edit your registry and configure it for blank password.

Well one more thing using blank password will put your computer on a high security risk.

go to control panel/ administrative tools/ local security policy/ Security options/ Accounts: Limit local account use of blank passwords to console logon only

set that to disable, and you will be able to remote desktop without the need for a password

that's how i do it and never had a problem
