    DNS in which network?

    Hello,

I have hosted my Website, and the web hoster has provided me an DNS id, how do i know whether my DNS must be in a local network or not.

This is because a local network should always be provided with a router to access internet and be recognized on the Internet. but this has no clue it just provides me an lengthy IP address.

Does DNS is responsible to allows the delivery of messages to each item on a network.

I do not have much knowledge, and am asking very basic questions about the networking

    Best regards.

Can you tell me if DNS must be in a local network or not.
No, it's not mandatory. And individuals often use the DNS address provided by the ISP.so the IP address which you sees is been provided by your ISP OR your web hoster.

a local network should always be provided with a router to access internet and be recognized on the Internet. but this has no clue it just provides me an lengthy IP address.
My opinion for this would be always no, it is convenient and it avoids the shortage of IPv4. It is still possible to use a range of public IP address for each of the PCs.

Thanks for you information, but I had also asked one more question to you and that was Does DNS is responsible to allows the delivery of messages to each item on a network. DNS is the interpreter between sending and receiving the message.

    Thanks once again.

Yes,DNS would be the whole responsible to send the messages over the Network. it sends the message from one end to the other.
