Wifi Connection is very unstable

I now a ps3 and a pc connected to my wifi in freebox. The connection is very unstable I decided to build a cable. So I pulled a cable from my pc to my freebox but I say why not put my console ethernet /
Can not remember the difference between hub and switch I did a search on the internet. From what I saw, basically, a hub is a multi-outlet and sends information to all PCs on the network while the switch sends the information to the computer only to receive it.

The problem is that I am not able to distinguish between different models. Can you provide me some solution ?

freebox the router and made several ethernet port.
pulling a second cable for your console like that you have no risk of data.

I'm freebox 25m of the cable passes through ducts under the house, to remove a cable is not an option too

I was also on a party switch also seen the benefits but I did not know what to take. One you just offer me me plait bien, d link is a good brand in the networks. it is self-powered machine or it must be plugged into an outlet?
