    wireless strange problem

    Hi there

Everything works just fine on my new Vaio laptop running on Vista home premium, connecting to my wireless network TalkTalk (the router is Echolife HG520s), until the connection stops working but still says I'M CONNECTED PERFECTLY????

I thought it was a typical firewall problem so i tried with disabling Windows firewall and the mcafee security center but nothing seems to work except disabling the network hardware and enabling again...

I tried also the tip about the power battery management but doesn't help.

    Please help

Is your router and system configured properly? Since you are you using wireless network, I suppose you should be in the range of the signals. If I am not wrong than your router is a "g" technology router and so it is mandatory for you to be within 20 - 25 meters for better performance.

Other than that, I can't assume what could be the problem with such short information.

Just right click on the Local Area Connection icon in the taskbar and Click on Repair, see what happens.

    My problem,
I use Talktalk - when upgraded to 8m to found the following helps - move wireless router to primary socket in your house - speed went form 3mb to 6mb and is fairly constant.

The main problem I have is the connection stops responding but I still show logged in username/passwd and dsl live - Seems Talk Talk are just crap - I will also go to BT the moment I can get out of their contract - forget 'support' department those guys couldn’t find their arse form their elbows

Unfortunately it's hard to tell from your description what's wrong.
This may be caused by security settings.
Check that the crypto type and key match these of your router.
