How to set the connection port for some Website

For some reason one website won't open and when I click to diagnose the problem "is not set up to establish a connection on port "world wide web service (HTTP)" with this computer " comes up. All other websites are fine. When I ping the web address in Command Prompt it comes back fine, but still won't open in IE7.

Can anyone tell me how to solve this problem?

The problem will most likely have nothing to do with Microsoft. Check the following

1. Is your router set to pass through DNS servers
2. Is your connection set to obtain DNS servers automatically
3. If the above are true, check with your ISP to insure he is not having trouble with his DNS servers

To verify that you have a DNS problem:
open a DOS window (run>cmd)
enter "ping yahoo.com"
If you get returns DNS servers are OK
if you get connection timed out try
ping 206.190.60.37
if you get replies - you have a DNS server problem
If no replies you are not connected to the Internet

Stumbled upon this potential solution after changing a couple of settings and experimenting. If you launch command prompt and find you can ping a website but not get it to be displayed in internet explorer, then try the following. Of course, I'm assuming you have a wireless connection but this might work for lan connections as well.

Turn off windows firewall, disable 'protect mode' in internet explorer and right click the network icon in the taskbar and disconnect from the wireless network. Click on the icon again and select reconnect to your network.

Seems simple but it did the trick for me. Btw, it took quite a while for the vista network components to identify my router (about 2-3mins). After that it recognised the router was connected to my dsl modem.
