Network and Sharing Center error - not responding

    Hello People,

My network and sharing center opens after a long pause and then is not responding. I checked the wireless adapter that I installed and the router and they are supposedly Vista-compatible, both are D-Link. D-Link Wireless LAN Monitor has stopped working. Windows cannot find solution for this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.

Microsoft provides different support services which have different service levels and support boundaries. For process hang and freezing issues, it is necessary to debug the related crash dump files or the freezing systems to locate the root cause. Also, in most cases, it is necessary to check the source codes as well. Unfortunately, debugging is out of our Forum’s support boundary. A support call to our product service team is needed for the debugging service. I'd like to recommend that you contact Microsoft Customer Support Service (CSS) for assistance so that this issue can be resolved efficiently.

You may also check the following points to troubleshoot the issue:

    • Log into Safe Mode with Networking and check the result. If the issue disappears in Safe Mode with Networking, please refer to the troubleshooting steps in the following article:
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista
    • Check if the Network List Service service is started.
    • Perform a full Windows Update.
    • Uninstall and reinstall the network adapter. After that, please install the latest driver for the network adapter.

    • Under the "System Tools" section, Double click "Local Users and Groups"
    • Click "Groups"
    • Right click "Administrators"
    • Click "Add to group..."
    • Click "Add"
    • Click "Advanced"
    • Click "Find Now"
    • Double click "Local Service"
    • Click "Ok"
    • "NT Authority\Local Service" should show up in the list now

I think you have got some form of virus, this used to do this for me Vista, you can always do CTRL + DEL + ALT to access the Task manager on the application tab you will be able to end the process of any program weather or not it is responding.
Try running virus checks and registration checks as well.

You can also try to Reinstall Vista and Select the repair option during the install.

The cause of all these actions are the services...
    1-Right Click (My Computer).
    2- Select (Manage).
    3- Expand (Serivces and Applications).
    4- Select (Services).
5- Check (ReadyBoost) It's start or no..if no then start it
& check the other services linked to your issue.

    Hope It's Helpfull
