Cannot share drive on lan

Hello there,

I am connected to 2 computers on my home network. But i cannot access my drive on other PCs. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Try going into explorer (that's file explorer not the internet explorer) and click on tools/folder options/view/ and down the bottom untick the option for simple file sharing.
Give it a go. If you turn it off then when you right click on the hard drive you should see the option for sharing.

Open "Control Panel" ten go to "Network and Sharing Center". Switch the "Password protected sharing" off. Also check sharing permissions and general permissions on the folders you share. Make sure that 'all' are allowed to view the content.

However check to make sure all workgroup Pc's share the same name.
The chances are that a firewall is blocking you seeing the 'drive', this will either be the router firewall or a software security firewall (such as Norton etc....) or both.

If you encounter difficulties accessing computers that are visible in Network Neighborhood, make sure the computer being accessed has an account with the same name/password as the system connecting to it uses to login.
