Problem connecting wifi in windows vista

    Hello,
I try to connect an ACER laptop with integrated wifi windows vista to the collective network of my home .I have a message that says "settings saved on this computer for the network does not meet the requirements for the network". I suspect an incompatibility with windows vista, can someone help me?
    thank you in advance.

    Hi,
I think you have wrongly your network in vista. Eg, you put a wep key to your network, and you have registered with the network wpa key example, but it may be something else. You have configured your network manually where vista that has found and configured ?

Can you give the name of the wireless router you are using ?

Hi, my friend had same router and exactly the same problem as you did, so here's what he did and it work ok.

1, Uninstall router and resit it with the rest button at the back
2, Write down everything that you input on the setup
3, Ensure that you put in the correct username and password
4, Keep the name NETGEAR for the Wi-Fi configuration
5, Ensure that you put in the passphrase and WEP (key 1) exactly
6, Let the laptop find the NETGEAR name
7, Once it has found the name NETGEAR it will then configure the IP address from the router. (this for me took about 15mins) so be PATIENT.
