Block P2P traffic

Can anyone please tel me, how to control and block P2P traffic?

P2P is very tough to block. You can use a stand-alone proxy (versus a transparent one) at some random IP in your network. Then set your firewall to block all outgoing traffic (or at least your workstation netblock).

The traditional approach to controlling P2P applications has been to try to block the ports used by file-swapping applications. The problem with that approach is that most P2P applications automatically search the range of ports until they find one that is open. The newest methods being used to monitor and control P2P traffic are tools that can either prioritize traffic or examine the contents of individual data packets to see what is being transferred and block it if necessary.

You can Install a decent firewall set it to whatever high protection mode it has. So it can can detect and block p2p traffics by pattern match. It can pick up a p2p connection by packet analysis and block it.
