Help setting up linux os netbook wirelessly

Hi I have been on this for hours and have admitted defeat. I have set up my netgear adsl2 with built in modem on my pc no problems there, but now i am trying to set up my cnmbook with linux os wirelessly to the router without any succsess. it has found the router but keeps saying connect network. I am not technical usually just fiddle until i get it right. can anyone give some advice thanks

To Set Up Wi-Fi on CnMBook:

1. Click the WiFi icon in the Internet tab.
2. Click the wireless network to connect to and click "Connect".
3. If the network uses encryption select the Authentication type, enter the security key information click "OK".
4. If the network is going to be regularly used give it a Preferred Network name and click "OK".
5. Close the Wireless LAN window by the X icon in the top right hand corner.
