My anti-virus software detected a root kit (file name is Amvo.exe or Amvo.dll) but is unable to remove it. I found out that each of my local drive opens in a new window while the folders opens in the same window. How to get rid of it?

To remove it here is the solutions:
- Open Task Manager -> Go to Processes tab, Right click on amvo.exe -> Click End Process and then click Yes.
- If that doesn't work then:
Go to Start -> Run and type regedit and press Enter
Search amvo.exe in Registry Editor and note down all the details of this result.
If you are confident enough about registry then delete all the entries which contain amvo.exe.
Before deleting just note down its path. Now go to that path and try to delete it. However if you are unable to do so then go to command prompt and type
file_path>attrib -a -s -h amvo.exe
where file_path refers to the path of amvo.exe
P.S. : This procedure should be done in Safe Mode.
Thanks Baltazar for your reply, I will give it a try.
