Word 97 crashes when printing, works fine on separate user account

I am not able to print from Word. I am having a old system that works on Wi Windows XP and Word 97. When I print a page it crashes. The same works fine if I am logged with an separate account. The printer is properly configured. I can run a test print. But from my admin account the print does not work. Can anyone tell me what is the reason behind the same. Why it is only crashing on my account. There must be some way to fix it.

I think the drivers are faulty. You will have to re-install the printer once more in your system and then check back. You can try by removing it first and then getting rid of the drivers. Then perform a clean setup once again and connect the printer. It will be working proper. You can also try to check the printer spooler service. Go under Administrative Tools > Services and check out there. Keep the settings of spooler service on automatic and then try back.

re: Word 97 crashes when printing, works fine on separate user account

This was happening in Word 95 and Word 97, but not printing from any other prgram, including Microsofts Works. I use a netowrk for two printers, and both print jobs crashed word.

Solution was duplicate printers loaded. Go to Control Panel, Printers, and delete all excess duplicate printers.
