I was looking to purchase the Windows Vista 64bit version for myself. But I was wondering whether the Office 2007 is compatible with the 64bit version of the OS or not? Thanks for any info.

Actually, there are not any 64 bit version of Office released till yet but you can always run the 32 bit applications in 64 bit Operating System. Office 2007 will just run properly in Windows Vista 64bit version OS.
Actually, from what I've heard, a lot of people I know have been having shit-loads of trouble getting Office 2007 files to work correctly or even sometimes at all on Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. Most have switched to the 64-bit edition of Office 2010. If you ask me, this was planned by Microsoft in order to force people to run out and buy the new Office. They've done stuff like this before...remember when they made Halo 2 DX10 only, even though it barely even utilizes the DX10 advantages, and then announced that there would be no official DX10 for XP?
