I cannot open .mdi files with Office 2007, so is there anyone who can help me with some solutions and how do I set it up? Thanks.

There is something called Microsoft Office Document Imaging tool that is an optional installation feature for Office 2007 which will open .mdi files. You can try to add that feature by choosing the MS Office Choice in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows XP Control Panel.

I think that it will be the same for Vista as I think for taking it, or not?

There is another tool called MDI Viewer 2.9 that is compatible with all Windows OS and it is a very basic Windows utility that was designed with a single goal in mind, that allows you to view MDI files with just a few clicks.
