error message: cannot empty the clipboard

If I am trying to copy and paste between different Office applications then I am getting some error message that states 'cannot empty the clipboard' and I cannot past go it. Ig I am opening the clipboard to view what is held on it, then there is nothing shown. Can anyone please give me some ideas? Thanks.

The problem that you are facing could occur if the computer that you use to connect to Terminal Services has multiple processors and if you use Remote Desktop Connection (Mstsc.exe) in the same Terminal Services session that you use Excel 2003.
