KB933146 "The installation of this package failed"

I am getting an error message saying "The installation of this package failed" whenever i try to install hotfix KB933146. I have tried installing it many times but no avail, what might be wrong in my system is there anything i can do about it?? Help regrading this would me much appreciated.

This has been a common issue.....

In order to get rid of that error you will have to install Windows Installer 3.1 .

Once installed you wont get the same error message again. Just try out what i have suggested and let me know if that helps, best of luck.

I just downloaded and installed Windows Installer 3.1, and the hotfix KB933146 got installed successfully after that.
