    Clipboard item not collected

I recently installed Office 2003 on my newly assembled Windows XP desktop. Installation went fine without any problem but now whenever I copy anything in any office application and try to paste it, I get an error message saying “Clipboard didn't collect the item” or something similar to this. This is happening only with Office programs, at rest places my clipboard is working fine.

I tried searching web regarding this for help but dint found anything. Hope someone here will surely help me out. Thank you.

You are not alone rATANJOT, count me in too. But I’m facing this problem only with Office running on Virtual PC.

Did you found any working solution for the same?

I have read something regarding this but not sure if it really works. They say that if you will stop the Virtual Machines Additions Service, the clipboard will start working properly. Tt does disable other features between the virtual PC and the Host. Hope that in the future versions these will be individual choices.

Figured it out! If you click in the cell and copy the CONTENTS of the cell, Excel will add it to the clipboard. If you simply click on the cell (rather than selecting the contents) and choose Copy, Excel will not add it to the clipboard.
