Is it possible to collapse rows in Excel without plus sign

I know how to hide / show the rows, but how do it so as to leave a little plus sign in the corner that allows me to control the number of rows to expand / contract (and I know you can do it - I've seen it on other spreadsheets!).

Maybe you cvan try using Data > subtotals in action or Data > Group and Outline. Both of these will show the outlining symbols to the left of the worksheet.

I do not thing that might be possible to do. You will need to do the same through a vba code. To create a cell from a drop-down box, you need only once a list of the various elements of which should be selected after cell entry. When you create this list on another worksheet, this has the advantage that you can hide the sheet after completion. On the other hand, you are forcing them, however, assign a name to the list pane.
