How do I make rows collapsible and expandable in Excel. I tried to use some dropdown list functions, but that really does not help. I need help to find a more better alternative which can help me to create collapsible and expandable rows in excel. The one which you can see in the comment box of websites. If there is any addin for the same then please provide the download. Thanks

Try this, click on Data > Group and Outline. Click on settings and then configure the button you want. There is another option you can try out. Click on DATA > Subtotals and then from there you configure each group as you want.

Re: How to make collapsible and expandable rows in Microsoft Excel

I have a sample which can help you for the process. I tried to use database column which is collapsible. I have three columns for example A / B / C. C as a main category and B is a sub-category. In the line of Example 1 and 3 that have corresponding columns B and C, so I'd like to close all matching with two columns and add the value that matched. I know the long way is that you can sort by B then C and insert sort by only one row and AutoSum in the match, but that is only the form of rows that are made. If I put B in X and Y and C in one of the data in a PivotTable that makes more or less. But what I need to have it in any way I can use = VLOOKUP also.
