Excel CSV Export use semi-colon as delimiter not comma

When I use save-as csv, the delimiter used by Excel is semi-colon and not comma. Why is this? Is there a setup that I can use to ensure comma as the delimiter?

Excel picks up this delimited from the Windows Regional settings under the control panel. Or else just refer the following document for more information.

    Import or export text files

It is right that you can change that from Control Panel. You will need to do some changes in the Language and Regional settings of Control Panel. Go in Control Panel and then click on Regional and Language Options. Click on Customize and then in the box appear you can see a option called as List Separator. Change it to comma and then click on Apply. Try back to export CSV file.
