    select encoding that makes your document readable

    There are some items like brocuhers, fliers, etc on my Microsoft. However, when i try to open them now i get a prompt saying:

    Select the encoding that makes your document readable.

    Choices are as followed.
    1. Windows default.
    2. Ms-dos
    3. Other encoding

    what might be wrong???

    It will help you in fixing those damaged Word documents. I guess those files might have got damaged.
