USB Controllers Missing in Device Manager

    Hi,

I have installed XP in my system recently, after that i have installed the drivers that i downloaded from internet, i copied them by using USB drive. But after installing graphics, network, audio drivers my system stopped detecting USB drives.
When i go see in device manager, i could not find USB controllers. How do i resolve this issue. Please assist me with this issue.

    System configuration:

    Intel P4 processer 2.4GHz,
    1 GB Ram,
    80+80 GB hard drives.

    regards,
    Solvent

Depends what USB chipset you have. Intel, for ex, has a Chipset
Identification Utility and the you can download the appropriate Cipset.inf
from Intel. It will not install if it's the wrong one.

If you have an OEM PC, check the CD's that came w/ the PC or look for
drivers on the PC manufacturer website.

If it's a home brew, the motherboard manufacturer should have the drivers.

You might also try the Add Hardware wizard in Control Panel.
