Who said no warranty? Lot CPUs are OEM but you still get 6 moths, 1year warranty.
I think this should have the same. Even then its very good

That hynix is most likely "rejected" hynix based on spurious duplicate chips.
Real hynix is for about 3-3.2k for the 400mhz version ,512mb and a 256mb is for 1650(i bought one a few days ago).
There is no way that genuine hynix is half the price of transcend.

No problem so far.Ran an extended test of memtest86 and no error.
But I'm sure I have genuine hynix.
Fake hynix dont have correct spd programming, are cheaper(way cheaper) and usually can't pass a single loop of memtest86.
Zion uses hynix chips too and is made in India(so no duties if any),when they are selling for 3100(at NP,delhi),how can anyone one else sell it for less than 2.5k?A one yr. or three year warranty can mean a difference of 300 bucks at most for the same product. The numbers simply don't add up in this case.

when i enquired it was around 2400/- except for small buyers like us @ 2800/-
as far as genuinity is concerned there are some marks on RAM that are being
clarified in the documentation by the original manufacturer .I had seen such one
from hynix itself but later cudn't get one for me Marks r in the form of codes
that r not available on the fake ones i don't know how and why?????

    Hey!

I want to purchase a high quality original RAM. My last RAM was supposedly a 512 MB Hynix RAM, that cost me 3000/- , but it has gone dead barely 1 1/2 years later.

Which are the best RAMS? How much does a 512 MB and 256 MB RAM of that brand cost?

For Hynix RAMs I've heard prices from 3000 to 5000+ rupees.

How can I judge the quality of a RAM? And identify a genuine one from a bad (given the prices vary so much from shop to shop)

    Have a nice day!

    - Pune.
