and as for the motherboard, for the 754, get the asus k8v (simply the best) and for the 939, msi k8n neo2, or asus a8v. if you wait for some more time, you can get a nforce4 based mobo and as for the motherboard, for the 754, get the asus k8v (simply the best) and for the 939, msi k8n neo2, or asus a8v. if you wait for some more time, you can get a nforce4 based mobo[/QUOTE]
The K8V is no longer the best for 754... Better to get a K8N-E Deluxe or K8N Neo Platinum.

I meant 1MB L2 and the FSB is pretty confusing each site gives different versions.
The quote below i took from the link

    http://www.techsupportdude.com/viewtopic.php?p=6433

The philosophy of AMD 64 isn't that new... But enthusiasts need to re-learn some terms and definitions we have all grown used to like FSB (Front Side Bus) as they just don't apply to the AMD 64 architecture like we are used to them applying with "normal" CPUs.

PLZ LET ME KNOW OF THE PRICES TOO.....

    amd athlon64 3200+ - 754(socket) 2.2ghz L2 512KB FSB -HT

both for 11250 in nehru place ,SMC international

amd athlon64 3400+ - 754(socket) 2.4ghz L2 1MB FSB -HT ,i think it should be for approx 13k or the new castle one

    amd 2400 939 is for 14500

A bit confused to acco. everything within 35k

    The process , the mobo , a good ram , a classy AGP , a loud sound card,dvd rw ,17" monitor and also PSU,mouse,cabinet,keybd etc ....

is it worth that i chose a low freq 64 bit instead of higher freq athlonXP or Pentium4
machines.... Iam thinking of postponing the AGP stuff

DOES these mobo come with default sound and AGP cards... ???

U'll get 128 bit dual channel memory support wid 939.....
secondly 754 is goin to b phased out... bad if u want to upgrade ur system in future.. n at the moment ddr2 rams r damn costly...n dont expect phenomenal performance boost wid ddr2...

    No need to buy FX51/53/55....

    3400+/ 3800+/ 4200+ is sufficient

FX-63 is what i call a chip (Dual Core, 2.2ghz each, SOI)

The revolution has just begun !

Hey i am from Noida too... Glad to see somebody from here on TA... Dont worry about the prices they will keep falling all the time... You can go in either for a 754 or a 939 based solution if you are not plannng in for an upgradation for next 1.5 years as by that time AGP would be phased out and you will have to buy a totally new system i.e CPU+MOBO+RAM+GFX combo cause u would have to go in for a PCIx based solution so dont you worry and grab what ever fits on your budget.

Getting a 939 based solution would definately be a plus but not worth spending few extra thousand cause there would be no extra performance difference if you are compareing same speeds within chipsets. I mean a 754 or a 939 3200 based chip will perform same irrespective of the socket. Hope you got that.

    Rig 1 : A64 3200+ | ASUS A8V E Dlx | 1 Gig Transcend | XFX 6800 GT | Seagate 80Gb Raid | Seagate 160 Gig Backup | Samsung 997DF | Sony DRU 800 | Logitech Z5300 | Microsoft IE 3.0
    Rig 2 : XP 2400+ | MSI K7N2 Ultra ILSR | 512 Generic DDR | XFX 6600 GT | Seagate pata 160 Gig | Samsung 793MB | LiteOn DVD Rom | Samsung 52x CDRW | Creative FPS 1500 | MS Wireless optical combo

It is a decent low end board. If you are not a power user, there is no problem going for it.Also it is the cheapest A64 board available afaik.

    unsure

@switch Iam placed at sec-26 plans of shifting soon

I gotta a list of mobos and cpus but dont which to go for and combine.

Which mobo is preferred as of now for future upgrading to processors...???

And sounds stupid but any way i'll spit out the query ... does 754 socket CPUs be placed on 939 socket mobos ...?!?!?!?!
i found all PCI-E mobos costly and so too the GFX cards ...
