Asus Rampage III Gene cold boot issue

Hi, I am using an old Asus Rampage III Gene motherboard with Corsair 750W PSU, GTX 550, Intel i5 core and 4gb memory. I am facing a problem of cold boot with this motherboard. When ever I am playing any game then after sometime the pc will freeze and then I am forced to restart the computer. Can anyone tell me how do I solve this problem? Thanks

Have you checked the Event Viewer in Windows to look if there is any error message at the time of your computer freezing? Does the freezing happens after a full boot or it is cooler? If you have not tried it then you can try to shut down your computer after its been running for a while and then immediately start it back again.

Did you try to test the RAM by running the memtest86 troubleshooting tool to get some idea if it is not a memory issue. If it is a RAM problem then you will get some error reading when you start the RAM testing. And if you get any kind of memory error that it will be time for you to change the RAM as soon as possible.

Even I was facing the same problem after some minutes of gaming on my computer, it used to freeze. After some research I found out that the PCIE slot on this mobo was defective on which I had my graphics card plugged in. When I changed the slot then I didnt face any problem. Or it could be an overheating problem because of gaming too much, you will need to fit a cooler to cool down the CPU temperature.
