    What does Asus Anti-Surge do

I had seen in the features list of Asus motherboard that says Anti-Surge. What does this thing means. It is a application or some bios feature. It says it can help the system protected from electric current. I tried to find more information on this, but unable to get any proper details. It looks this is something new. Gigabyte always add tons of new features in their board which is associated with durability.

Anti-surge is some type of electric protection. It help your components from getting damage. It saves them from current and offer more security. Some sensitive components in the system can damage quiet easily due to left current. So this thing remove it.

This is not protecting your board from UN-necessary current, it is added to detect problem with psu. It happens a number of time that the psu send excessive or less voltage. That cause problem with the other components. To stop the same, this thing is triggered. If this feature in on your motherboard then you will get a error on the screen. And that is the time you must change your power supply. It only starts if your system has a unstable power supply. It is an indication to replace it unless other issue occur. Many board comes with this thing. But they are named differently. Sometime this is very irritating. Even if the system is working fine you will get the message on the screen. In house appliances we can commonly see surge protectors. This are available to protect them for faulty electric flow. So if there is any fluctuation in the current this surge protects your device for getting damage.

This is nothing special. When you buy a board just checkout the durable features. Most of the high end gigabyte motherboard have those features. They have powerful components which makes it durable and strong enough to handle power issues.
