Error "A corrected hardware error has occurred. Component: PCI Express Root Port" on Intel DX58SO2

My system specification is as followed:
    Motherboard DX58SO2
    CPU - i7 970
    RAM - Corsair 24GB (6x 4GB) DDR3 1600MHz DOMINATOR
    Windows 7
I am getting the below Error:
    Log Name: System
    Source: Microsoft-Windows-WHEA-Logger
    Date: 20/06/2011 9:25:00 PM
    Event ID: 17
    Task Category: None
    Level: Warning
    Keywords:
    User: LOCAL SERVICE
    Computer: BIPPIN.VISH.local
    Description:
A corrected hardware error has occurred.
    Component: PCI Express Root Port
Error Source: Advanced Error Reporting (PCI Express)
    Bus: Device:Function: 0x0:0x9:0x0
    Vendor ID: Device ID: 0x8086:0x3410
    Class Code: 0x30400

I have checked out the Event and it is corresponding to PCI-e slot which is Adaptec 6805 SATA Raid Card that I have installed, I have tried switching the card to different slot but then I am getting the same error, I have tested out the SATA card with other motherboard and it is working fine out with them but then I don’t know why is it not working with DX58SO2, I have tried updating the bios and have tried a number of version but then it is not making any difference and I am still getting the same error, I also wanted to add that the system is having the latest Intel Chipset Drivers as well, is there anyone who has faced the same and has an idea about it and van help me out as well??

I have checked out for the same and have found the below possible solution that you can try out:
    • Try changing the PCI-express root port driver from Intel provided to Microsoft generic driver and after that make a clean installation of the driver if it helps.
    • Try using latest DX58SO2 BIOS (SOX5820J.86A.0888.2012.0129.2203) for eliminating the WHEA-17 errors.

I am not very sure if the above solution will help you out in getting rid of the issue but then you can give it a try as some people have tried out these solutions for solving out similar issues, so just try it out and then post back the result that you are getting.

Hey thanks for the same I had tried out changing the PCI-express root port driver from Intel provided to Microsoft generic driver but then it was not making any difference in my case and I was still getting the same error but then to my surprise when I updated DX58SO2 BIOS (SOX5820J.86A.0888.2012.0129.2203) for eliminating the WHEA-17 errors then the issue was solved I am not getting the same error message again, your solution has saved me, I had posted the same issue in some other forums as well but then I had not got any luck, seems this forum is quite lucky for me. I was really scratching my hair for solving out this before but then your quick reply has solved it out.
