Which motherboard to go for: Intel Z77 or Intel Z68

I am posting here to compare the Intel Z77 and Intel Z68. Can you tell that which one is going to be the better of these two? There are many articles written on this but it is always better to have some replies from other people who are actually using this.

The Asus P8Z77 Pro-V is one of the first board with the Z77 chipset. It offers native USB 3.0 , which worked quite well in the short test. This kick off Intel's chipsets for the Series 7, which actually for the Ivy Bridge CPUs and are provided (i-Core 3000).

Such a Core i7-2600K has also plugged into the motherboard P8Z77-V Pro from Asus, where the processor running at once and without further configuration. Windows Update knows the driver for Intel host controller for USB 3.0 and yet Asus supplies that on DVD. We have some short speed tests conducted just before we start the show with the help of an Intel SSD 510 with 120 GB capacity and a USB 3.0 case from Sharkoon. As a comparison, it was the Intel motherboard DP67BG, the USB 3.0 by the addition PD720200 chip is implemented by NEC / Renesas. This module is also found in many other devices, since it was first available in the Series USB 3.0 controller.

MSI is preparing to launch a broad front of his Ivy Bridge motherboards highlighting the important role that only selected components are used and before launching initially extensively tested for bugs and defects. Five Boards with Z77 chipset will be available: GD80-Z77A, Z77A-GD65, GD55-Z77A, Z77A-G45, G43-Z77A.

The new Z68 chip supports CPU graphics unit, which sits in all Sandy Bridge processors, yet offers all the OC functions (OC-Multi, various RAM divider, all the important voltages, etc.) as well as Crossfire and SLI, if the particular board has a Nvidia SLI license. For those who already want to use a graphics card instead of integrated graphics core, the Z68 in is better option.

The main novelty of Z68 chipset is undoubtedly SSD caching. This technique combines the advantages of conventional HDDs (a lot of space for a small price) and SSDs (extremely fast but expensive). As the name suggests, the SSD is then used as cache memory - similar to Seagate Moments. Frequently used data from SSD caching automatically saved on the fast SSD to speed up access. Anyone who has worked with an SSD, knows the benefits: The system feels much faster than a standard hard drive. Just the response is much faster.

The Z68 can dynamically switch between the integrated graphics unit and change the graphics card (fast). This way, it is using the techniques of Lucid Logix Virtu (known as the Hydra chip) and Nvidia with Synergy. The Nvidia version works naturally with Geforce cards. Lucid Virtu contrast works with Radeon and is already available for download. However, the Lucid technology is currently the graphics card but put into power save mode but not completely off. It can therefore be a maximum at medium load graphics such as Blu-ray or other HD video playback, save electricity, because the integrated graphics unit is more economical than most graphics cards.

There are many of the complaints about Z68 and so it will be better if you can test for the driver for the new version. Until now four motherboards met with Z68 chip.

Since running for SSD caching the hard drive in RAID mode, it was necessary to reinstall Windows. In the short time we were able, therefore, only with a "fresh" and not test it with a "cluttered" Windows installation. In addition to the Trim command does not in RAID mode. According to Intel SSD for caching, but that's not a problem because the software can be enough "free" space on the SSD.
