ASUS M5A88-M EVO (overclocked) poor Video encoding while playing game

    Hi guys

I need help on this issue that I am having with my Mobo ASUS M5A88-M EVO . the problem is that I have overclocked it by multiplier up to 3.6ghz however since then I have notice that while playing the game I see poor Video encoding which continue till the temperature exceeds 62c precisely and after that the multiplier will turn to the normal again . I did everything that code possible but nothing working is there any one here can help me on this or at least suggest any other mobo on the same price range I will be really appreciating. Is this because of the software or hardware?

    Thanks in advance

Here is the few things that you can try see if this helps

    1. Trying switch on-off TurboV Processing Unit
    2. Disable or enable Energy Processing Unit
    3. Use the Asus tuning tools

Try all this and see if that helps you and reply back if that help

I like to suggest you sandybridge cpu's which are good in video encoding because of their quicksync attribute however fitting a GPU Is not possible.

I believe you be able to pair a 2500k with the over z68 motherboard and capable of still put in a GPU. It will be a great option than bulldozer or else the fx series processors. Quicksync is very fast and gives good results too. Its tried as well as tested and is the forte of 1155 sandybridge processors.

Well there are few things that you can try that might help you like in the operating system you make sure that the processor power management is set to active it should not be passive . similarly on the BIOS you disable cool and quiet, EPU, C1E See if this help you , I believe that will fix thing for you,

    Also

Can you tell me what is the voltage that you have set , I mean 62c is getting very high for this type of overclock. I am getting 54c full load under prime95. That is with FX-4100 working with 4.5GHz (1.33V), with a 5 year old cooler

Well if I will be needing the video encoding I will be considering the Intel 2600k according to the article that I have read on the web that said 2600k perform best than the AMD FX-8150 in video encoding
