Re: Phenom II N850 Notebook Processor

The AMD Phenom II X3 N850 is based on the desktop Athlon II X3 and thus has no Level 3 cache. A single 16-bit 1800MHz HyperTransport 3.0 link binds to the M880 chipset. The performance is in the range of Core 2 Quad Q9000 is, however, the single-core performance significantly worse (about 2 GHz Core 2 Duo level). Compared to similar new Core i3-330M, the Phenom II is mostly beyond. The X3 N850 has an integrated DDR3 memory controller (up to -1 333 DDR) and is manufactured in 45nm SOI process.

AMD Phenom II N850 is a triple-core processor clocked at 2200 MHz bumps up Phenom II N850, another triple-core processor Phenom II 100 MHz runs at 2200 MHz N830 Rising frequency is around 5%, and therefore, we expect improved performance on Phenom II N850 to be around 4 to 5% compared to the Phenom II N830.

Communication with the chipset is using 1800 MHz (or 3600 MT / s) HyperTransport bus differential. The HyperTransport bus is a bus rapid with high bandwidth reduces bottlenecks in the transfer of data between the processor and chipset.

Re: Phenom II N850 Notebook Processor

The TDP (Thermal Design Power) Assessment of the Phenom II N850 is a mid-range of 35 watts. One of the noteworthy notebooks designed with Phenom II processor N850 is HP dv7-4170us Pacilion. Even with large 17.3-inch LCD screen, the laptop has a battery of seven hours. There is little reference sheet obtainable at the time of writing for Phenom II N850. The minimum score required for the N850 is 2139. Readers are encouraged to publish the results of benchmarking in the comment sections - especially for the Super Pi 1M and 2M and the rate of Windows 7 experience.

Re: Phenom II N850 Notebook Processor

I want to get me a new laptop soon. This has installed the following CPU: Phenom II N850 / 2.2 GHz (triple core). There is the same model for 50 € more but with an Intel Core i5 460M / 2.53 GHz. I can say one thing? Which is better? I am not primarily concerned with the performance itself, since the laptop is not used to playing, but to work. I am talking mainly about the thermal evolution of the two CPU's. Which is hotter and thus also the fan loud?

If you want to work only with the device, then why do you not even look the part with the new AMD Fusion APU? They are very power efficient, and appropriately by keeping longer. From Phenim II Mobile CPU, I can only advise, because there hastdu the same problem, as present in your chest. The CPU-propeller is very often have to turn very high to keep the "heat monster" under control.

Re: Phenom II N850 Notebook Processor

I was wondering, for a laptop which of the two processors is better to play (taking into account that the video card for both of them would be a radeon hd 6550 1gb) and in general? Those around 300MHz difference between the two really matter much, given that one has three physical cores and the other has four, but two of these virtual??

Re: Phenom II N850 Notebook Processor

Phenom processors are the AMD line to the uppermost segment of the market, and have only recently begun to see great teams. Even less is known about them, but they compete with the Core i5 and i7 processors from Intel, not much information regarding the exact performance and autonomy.
