Corsair CMP6GX3M3A1600C8 unable to reach at 1600MHZ

The hardware specifications are similar to mine, with the main difference is a P6X58D , MB-E, a CMP6GX3M3A1600C8, and i7 960. Beforehand, on my own computer, you just set the XMP profile and restore all the specifications as advertised.

First, I upgraded to the latest BIOS (701), set the XMP profile (only one available), which was 1600MHZ-8-8-8-24-2P-1.65V-1.20.The only thing that changed was the QPI voltage / drain from 1.40 to 1.35. When I resume the dreaded "overclocking breakdown".

If so, you might need to be 1.4v. My i7 acts the same method, when I go over 685MHz (1370) as many as you know. I be acquainted with that 1.35v is great (apparently, so Intel said max), nevertheless I would attempt a small more QPI to observe if it helps to boot into Windows. Also check the memory voltage to ensure the 1.65v BIOS to change.

Please go away to the BIOS setup and load default setting then enable XMP profile and make other changes and exit the BIOS and save changes to a proof establish memtest boot if the system is steady, then the CPU / 1.375-1.45 QPI voltage until the system is steady.

    Xmp Profile Settings:
    • PCIE Frequency: 100
    • DRAM Frequency: DDR3-1600MHZ
    • QPI / Dram core voltage: 1.40000

Turbo Mode or any other on the determination of clock should be disabled or set to AUTO. And when over-clocking I suggest you leave speed step disabled by the CPU clock will default.

This construction has been rather hectic pre-configured with Gigabyte motherboards. First I could not load a profile XMP, and died on HD Velociraptor. I was able to borrow another HD this weekend and installed it. The attempt to treat ยบ third dram dissimilar CPU voltages, I dropped the CPU voltage to 1.64, begins in the XMP profile.

The next day, Sunday, when loading application that crashed. Temps had only increased by two degrees (41dgr CPU, 36dgr MB), so it was not the problem. I'll play with the tension again, when I was home tonight, unless someone has more suggestions. By the way, tRFC rose to 88, compared with 41 of JEDEC. Is this a trouble?

I have the system to load the XMP profile, but with time off and not restart until I load the BIOS defaults. I tried the steps above again, but would not have the "overclock no" flag. However, this afternoon, I went through their previous steps a) set the default load, b) load the XMP profile, and c) save and exit.

This time I left the CPU voltage to 1.65. The system restarted with the beep reassuring alone, that I was not getting the last time, with adjustments as set out in the annex above. I think I'm on the right path, may be due to system "aging". His "been going on for a week, 24 / 7, and completely updated.

I would check the voltage of the CPU / QPI and observe what is set to XMP when activate; the CPU is the voltage is supposed to be attuned to no more than about 1.45 volts.

But still check what QPI / VTT (memory controller) voltage is set to. This is independent of the DRAMMEN or memory voltage. To summarize, the voltage should be 1.12v CPU
    • Memory voltage 1.65V
    • QPI / VTT should between .1.45 1.25 volts.

If stable at this point you can leave things alone. But if you start having problems again when running applications / games I would add more tension to QPI.

I gave my friend the team Thursday, and immediately fell upon him. I had to go back and I made a single channel memory test, I should have done when I first could not enter the XMP profile. Indeed, failed to enter no matter XMP RAM module was placed in slot A1, while slots B1 and C1 had no problem. Luckily, I have kept the original packaging. I dismounted and repackaging of the board, asked for a RMA number of the provider, and returned it to the end of the RMA and the shipping, which specifies all components.

At first a triple-channel kit (CMP6GX3M3A1600C8). on the other hand, the XMP profile only for the time being maintained with three modules. I finally make a single channel test (run a RAM module at a time), I should have done from the beginning, and reveal the slot A1 circuit fault.
