The reason behind it because I believe there is some sort of boundaries where it's just not worth spending so much. Hence I need buy ram work at least 16gb stable and hence I am waiting to insert 24Gb RAM. I would also like it to support that RAM overclocked to 1600Mhz. i7 980X processor presents on it. Upgrading RAM on your Gigabyte Technology GA-X58A-UD7 (DDR3-1333MHz) Motherboard is easy. The Gigabyte Technology GA-X58A-UD5 acquires PC3-17600 DDR3-2200 240pin SDRAM DIMM RAM Type. I don't think this memory comes in a Triple channel kit. You need to build a configuration with TONS of RAM, 24GB.

16GB RAM is the limit currently with sandy bridge motherboard. If we compare the 24GB with the X58 motherboards with an i7 9xx CPU then yes this is the best combination and must say that it can be works in best format. I did check the QVL from gigabyte's website and find much info about this 24GB of RAM. Then use this site help and check the number of RAM size onto it.
