Overclocking on 2600k with high temperature

Please help me with Overclocking on 2600k for higher temperature. I have 2600k chip and working fine but it gets very hot quicker. It has prime95 like 85c that 1/2 lines setup with water cooling. How to control this high temperature? Also my vcore is at 1.520 with ASUS AI software and board is ASUS p8p67 deluxe b3.

Your voltage seems very high to me. Just keep in mind that the more voltage you give to your processor the hooter will get. I have done sum research over the internet and found that Intel advises us not to go over 1.35v or 1.4v with the Vcore on a 45nm part.

    • Core 2 Duo SL9400 1.86Ghz
    • Intel GS45 chipset - 4500MHD Graphics
    • Corsair 2x2GB DDR3-1333 @ 1066 8-8-8-20
    • Intel X25-V 40GB
    • Wacom Penabled (only MS programs)
    • Windows 7 Pro 64bit

According to me you should drop or downgrade your vcore 1.5v. The reason I am telling this because your vcore 1.5v is high enough to damage and degrade your chip long-term. If I were in your place then I would be shooting for max clockspeed at volts and vcore not higher then than 1.35. if not then it would be risky. I would like to let you know that with performance your CPU health is also important. So you should take such precautions.

As per I am concerned for less voltage you have to use thinner silicon. I have 1.32 Vcore in my system. Since you have not properly mentioned yours so let me assume that your may be 1.35 to 1.4 is for the 32nm processors. The specification are:

    • ASUS P8P67 Deluxe
    • Intel Core i7 2600K
    • Coolermaster HAFX
    • EnzoTech CPU block, 1/2 inch custom water loop via 240 rad
    • Corsair 850 Watt PSU
    • 2 x 4GB DDR3 1600 Gskill RipJaws
    • Crucial C300 64GB SSD (O/S)
    • WD 1TB SATA 6GB/s
    • MSI 560Ti Twin Frozr II

See the following specification and take reference from it:

    1. Core i7 2600K @ 3.4GHz
    2. MSI P67A-GD65 DDR3
    3. Corsair DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
    4. XFX HD-6950 800M 1GB DDR5
    5. Onboard Audio
    6. DVDRW: LITE-ON SHW-160P6S
    7. Seagate-500gig
    8. Win 7 64bit, SP-1

I would like to add more options for you in the specifications. Just choose from it as per your convenience.
