    Max Ram/Speed for K9N Neo-F

Right now, I am using the 2x512 DDR2 800 that is running at 800mhz dual channel and I am thinking to purchase 4x1gb DDR2 800. I am posting this thread here to know that if it will slow down to 667. I am asking this for the reason that I will be required to populate all four dims. I am having the AMD64 3500+ used for the memory controller. Please reply as early as possible. I will be thankful to all the replies.

You are very right my friend. All you have to do is to put them at 667 by means of 4 sticks and if you will not do that then the system will be dreadfully unbalanced. So your fear for the unstable system will be true. So if you want to add that then you will have to put them at 667 through 4 sticks and you will not get the problem after that. I wish that this will be helpful to you. If you get any problem after that then please reply back and I will provide you some other method to avoid that.

If the above solution does not help you then my estimation would it be better to perform 2x2GB at 800 otherwise 4x1GB at 667. This is for the reason that servers makes use of each slot they can because they have enormous memory controllers and really can exploit all dimm slots at the same time, therefore the bandwidth is superior but at slower speeds. This similar strategy pertains to the setup through the AMD64 3500+ onboard memory controller.

    Re: Max Ram/Speed for K9N Neo-F

I lately installed 2 2GB Crucial DDR2 PC6400 800MHz sticks for my K9N Neo v1 board (MS 7260). This was working well and the BIOS reports a working 3.2GB as anticipated. Including the third DIMM will not have any consequence and BIOS does not make out it that while the system functions well - the board is restricted to 4GB. AMD's do not functions well by means of 3 sticks, constantly uses 1, 2 of 4 sticks.
