Is Intel core i7 870 compatible with Asus P7H55 motherboard?

The question says it all. I need to know whether the intel core processor is compatible with the Asus P7H55 motherboard. I am not sure about the compatibility and hence I thought of better confirming with you all. So what’s your opinion on this? I did have a chat with some of my friends but none of them had any idea about it. Also I did search for the information in the internet but none of them gave me any appropriate information. So I am expecting some responses from your side. So please do reply as early as possible.

Considering your question I think asus motherboard is very well supported by the intel core processor. I did have a thorough look at the asus websites and under the product name the processor name does gets displayed that means it is very well supported by the intel core processors. So that’s what I want to say here. It is indeed compatible with the motherboard that you are having. So be happy and I hope you have got the necessary information that you were looking for.

I am one of the user who is having some problem with the working especially with the Intel i7-870. Even I have the same configuration as the above user has but the same thing does not works in my case. Why is that so? However I have noticed that when I work with the Intel i5-660 it does gets booted up. As you said that Asus P7H55 is compatible with the Intel i7-870 then why is it not working in my case. I have also checked some of the forums and there also some of the users are not getting that combination to work, so what should I do in such situation? Can you all suggest me anything?

Check whether you are booting up with the presence of the graphic card in the system. Like all other processors it does not have any integrated graphic card. So first check whether you have a proper graphic card in the system, otherwise sorry to say it will not work. Also check in the bios that if the graphic adapter is set to PEG/IGD or PEG/PCI. If it is not then do set it to the following thing. So I hope you have got the point that I am trying to make here do look at it carefully and work on it accordingly.

Yes I use a graphic card for my system and the one that I am using it right now is the Sapphire Radeon HD5450 with 512Mb. So now whenever I set up the cpu to i5-660 it works well but whenever I setup my cpu to core i7-870 it does not work at all. So your confusion of whether I am using the graphic card or not then it is being solved here. I am aware of the fact that core i5 does come with integrated graphic card. Still I am not getting any proper solution for this problem. Any more solution?

I am quite sure that there is some problem with the bios only. Check if you have a proper memory setup in the bios. Ensure that it is not set to the dual channel. One more piece of advice that I would like to give it you is that check with the cmos battery as well. Do try clearing it when you have switched off the entire system, try adding ram sticks in the other two slots as well. So that will be of lot of help for you. So do try working on it, I am sure it will be of lot of help for you.

Hey you are a true genius it was indeed that problem. The thing is that I had actually set the memory setup in dual channel but now I put both of them in the DIMMs and now I am successfully able to boot it in the i7-870 as well. So thanks a lot for the valuable piece of advice that you all have given. I must say that it really helped me in the process. So thanks a lot for that. I really appreciate your efforts for helping me out in this situation.
