Well when you are going to get the new CPU there should be two points which you should consider. I mean it is totally dependent on the requirement of yours. if you are looking to get faster CPU or the CPU which is having lower power consumption. If you are really wanted to have CPU upgrade then you should definitely go for the Athl. X2 Brisbane would be the good option for the upgrading the CPU of yours.

I am want to discuss very important point with you. Well whenever you are looking to have new model for the CPU or GPU then you should see whether the current PSU which you are having on the computer is capable for the power supply all the components. Because it might be the new hardware component which you are supposed to install on the computer might need more power supply and the PSU of yours would be not be able to provide the power supply for the same.

If you are looking to have great computing speed on the computer then you should go for the new motherboard and also you should have the AM3 CPU and get explicitly DDR3 RAM for the computer of yours. you have already posted in the question that is you are having AMD Athlon 64x2 5600+ then I should not go for the 6000 because it would be totally useless for you. If you are having the money then you should get everything new.

Well looking at the situation which you have provided over here I am thinking that CPU is already having is completely fine. I recommend that rather than buying new CPU use pair the CPU with the ATI 4850/5750 video card. You might also needed to have new power supply to support the new video card on the system of yours. Instead you can simply upgrade to the AM3 and install X4 AthlonII 640 and also add ATI 5770.

You will not be able to use ATI 5XXX on the motherboard since it is having PCI-e 1.x. hence I am suspecting that it will not work at all in the game. so according to me it is absolutely not worth to have an old system to upgrade in which already the ATI 4670 is being installed. I think your motherboard has been reached the limit and you need to change the same to get better performance.
